About the Opportunity
Our client is a specialty mineral producer in the middle of explosive growth. They mine, process, and package their product for the water filtration, infill, animal feed, and several other industries.

This role is responsible for growing market share, and the market overall, while making sure operations can support that growth. We're looking for someone who can lead a sales team, take part in conferences and customer visits, and also keep oversight of operations so current and future demand gets met. You'll have the chance to help shape the company's growth, and propose and work on contracts with new distributors and partners along the way.

What You'll Do
Sales & Growth Strategy

  • Build and grow relationships with key customers, specifiers, distributors, and end users to maximize retention and secure long term contracts
  • Identify and pursue new growth initiatives, including new markets, product applications, custom blends, or value added services
  • Lead pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and proposal development to win business and optimize margins
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis to anticipate customer needs and adjust strategy

Operations & Performance Oversight

  • Provide strategic direction and performance oversight for plant and mine operations, so production, quality, and delivery support growth targets
  • Hold full P&L accountability, with a focus on revenue generation, margin improvement, and profitability
  • Monitor key performance metrics, including sales volume, revenue, on time delivery, product quality, inventory turns, and customer satisfaction, and take corrective action when gaps appear
  • Collaborate with the operations leadership team to align production planning, capacity, and quality systems with sales demand
  • Oversee inventory management, raw material sourcing, and logistics to keep supply reliable without tying up excess working capital
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts across both commercial and operational excellence

Compliance & Team Leadership

  • Ensure full regulatory compliance and maintain a strong safety and environmental culture, leaning on the existing operations team for day to day execution
  • Recruit, develop, and retain strong talent in sales, customer service, and key support roles, while coaching the existing operations leadership team
  • Prepare and deliver regular performance updates, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to leadership
  • Evaluate and champion capital projects that support long term growth, like capacity expansion or quality upgrades

What You Bring
Education

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Engineering or technical degree, or business experience/MBA, is a big plus

Experience

  • Prior general management experience preferred
  • General knowledge of the water filtration industry is a plus
  • Comfortable communicating animal feed product information

Key Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software applications
  • Strong mathematical ability
  • Positive attitude, self starter, good problem solver
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record that meets company insurance requirements
  • Willing to devote the time needed to reach strategic goals
  • Available for overnight travel to sales meetings, trade conventions, and customer visits
