Senior Geochemist
About the Opportunity
Our client is looking for a senior geochemist with 15+ years of mining related experience to lead environmental and mining focused projects across the U.S. and abroad. This role suits someone with a strong background in mining geochemistry who wants to apply that expertise to hydrogeology, water quality, pit lake chemistry, mining impact assessment, geochemical modeling, and materials characterization.

You'll step into a technical leadership role on a collaborative, multidisciplinary mining team, with real room to grow and mentor others along the way.

What You'll Do

• Apply geochemical principles to evaluate material characteristics, water-rock interactions, contaminant transport, and water quality
• Perform geochemical modeling using PHREEQC and/or Geochemist's Workbench to support site evaluations, remediation planning, and impact assessments
• Analyze and interpret geochemical and hydrogeological data from field and lab investigations
• Develop technical reports, proposals, and presentations with clarity and scientific rigor
• Collaborate with geologists, hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, and engineers across every project phase
• Travel to mine sites for site visits and client meetings
• Maintain high standards of quality and safety across all project work

What You Bring
Education

• Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, civil/environmental/geological engineering, or a related field
• Master's or Ph.D. in geochemistry or a closely related field

Experience

• 15+ years of professional experience in mining related geochemistry, hydrogeology, and/or environmental science
• Strong background in environmental water quality assessments, geochemical modeling, water-rock interaction processes, and basic hydrogeology
• Familiarity with laboratory geochemistry techniques and material characterization program design
• Field experience with rock/soil logging and sampling, groundwater sampling, well construction and testing, or related tasks
