Supply Chain Manager
Reports to: Financial Controller

About the Opportunity
Our client is building something from the ground up. Their remote site is moving through construction and startup into steady state operations, and they need a Supply Chain Manager to own procurement, inventory, and logistics through every phase. With limited local vendor infrastructure, keeping the site supplied on schedule and within budget takes real planning, strong vendor relationships, and someone who thrives on solving logistics puzzles.

You'll lead the Warehouse and Procurement teams, partner daily with Maintenance, Processing, Construction, EHS, and the Financial Controller, and shape how supply chain runs as the operation scales. This is a hands-on leadership role with genuine ownership from day one.

What You'll Do
Procurement & Vendor Management

• Own the end-to-end procurement cycle: requisition intake, sourcing, quoting, purchase order issuance, receipt reconciliation, and invoice validation before submission to AP.
• Develop and maintain a qualified vendor base for equipment, parts, consumables, and site services suited to the site's remote location.
• Negotiate pricing, freight terms, and lead times with suppliers to control landed cost and protect schedule.
• Maintain vendor scorecards and lead periodic vendor performance and contract reviews.
• Manage purchasing card and expense workflows for procurement-related spend.

Inventory & Warehouse Oversight

• Direct the Warehouse Supervisor and warehouse team in receiving, storage, issuance, and cycle counting.
• Set minimum and maximum stocking levels for critical spares and consumables to prevent operational shortfalls.
• Own inventory accuracy, including periodic full physical inventories and reconciliation of variances.
• Ensure proper hazardous materials storage and labeling in coordination with EHS.

Logistics & Supply Chain Planning

• Coordinate inbound freight, including LTL/FTL carriers, oversize and overweight loads, and remote-site delivery logistics.
• Plan procurement lead times against the leach pad reprocessing schedule and the upcoming mill construction ramp-up.
• Anticipate supply risk from single-source vendors or long-lead items and build contingency plans.

Cost Control & Budget Management

• Own the supply chain and procurement operating budget and track spend against forecast.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through vendor consolidation, freight optimization, and inventory right-sizing.
• Partner with the Financial Controller on capital procurement planning tied to mill construction.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure warehouse and logistics operations comply with MSHA Part 48, DOT, and site safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records for regulated materials, chain-of-custody items, and vendor compliance documentation.

Team Leadership

• Directly supervise the Warehouse Supervisor and provide indirect oversight of warehouse technicians.
• Set performance expectations, conduct reviews, and support development within the supply chain team.
• Coordinate with HR on staffing plans as the department scales with the operation.

What You Bring
Education

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or equivalent experience.

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating supply contracts.
• Mining, heavy industrial, or remote-site operations experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with MSHA Part 48 requirements is a plus.

Key Skills

• Working knowledge of inventory management systems and purchase order workflows; experience with purchasing software systems is a plus.
• Ability to work and live onsite at a remote mining operation.
• Comfortable in field conditions, including rugged terrain, extreme heat, cold, and dust.
• Valid driver’s license for site and vendor-site travel.
