PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To provide direct output support for Category Managers: Mining Contract Services enabling the maintenance of effective contracts management strategies with specific focus to be placed on the effective execution and recording of contract meetings; management of contractor audit processes, assistance in budgeting process and contract reporting. Elevates contract management concerns to appropriate leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics / Statistics or Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar environment.

COMPETENCIES:
  • Proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish and English would be advantageous.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; MS Project and Power BI and Think-Cell experience is beneficial, but not required.
  • Detail orientated individual with solid analytical experience.
  • Strong data assimilation, analysis, and hypothesis construction skills.
  • Assertive, driven, individual who has experience interacting with diverse groups of people.
  • Sufficient depth of knowledge to investigate, identify and resolve problems and technical issues in own function.
  • Solid Commercial contract negotiation, especially Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Good supplier relationship management (SRM) skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of operational accounts and budgeting processes.
  • Verbal and written communication with the ability to transcribe meeting recordings into effective and meaningful contract records and minutes.
  • Good negotiating and presentation skills (Experience with Think-Cell will be beneficial).
  • Proven track record of working with cross-functional teams.
  • Solid planning/organizing and time management skills: capable of managing major projects simultaneously.
  • Auditing experience is beneficial.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Contracts Reporting and Visibility:
  • Model behavior that is consistent with the Company's Vision and Values.
  • Provide to the Commodity Managers with the development, tracking, presentation, and distribution of contract reports with specific reference to;
  • Portfolio savings achieved support.
  • Measurement of contract key performance metrics to target and tracking of benefits.
  • Potential and identified Operational Efficiency initiatives and impact to the business.
  • Monthly contractor cost vs revenue realised.
  • Rate reviews, pain gain audits and contract accruals.
  • Set up, maintenance and distribution of monthly dashboards for critical contracts and automation of such.
  • Conduct a compliance assessment of current contractor reporting to contract requirement.
  • Collaboration and Alignment with Operations:
  • Support the Commodity Managers with the design and implementation of site & contract specific management (Management Team) presentation templates for Leadership Team (LT) / Steering Committee review.
  • Provision of support to site-based Management Teams (MT) with the preparation and updating of MT reporting / presentations to the LT for review with specific focus on the performance tracking of key performance indicators and projects.
  • Timely transcription of LT meeting records into comprehensive and articulate minutes for contract records and distribution to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and share information with peer functions and, where appropriate.
  • Effectively gather, analyse & apply supply base market knowledge and/or contractor data, productivities & efficiencies.
  • Facilitate communication & information flow.
  • Participate in networking with cross BU / Divisional peers and supports cross business leverage initiatives.
  • Work within commodity teams to establish end-user requirements and to identify cost reduction opportunities and recommends commercial approach.
  • Conduct product evaluation analysis in conjunction with operations on commodities to maximise revenue and reduce costs.

Contractor Costs Audits / Pain Gain Audit:
  • Act as point of contact for communication of audit deliverables.
  • Oversee timely contract placement and payment of external audit service providers.
  • Consolidation of historic pain / gain audit history and trends
  • Support the Commodity Managers and external audit with information requests to contractors, analysis of audit data received and validation of such relative both contract compliance and contract performance and efficiencies realised.
Budgets:
  • Monitor contract performance against site budget and conduct root cause analysis of deviation from budget.
  • Analyse site budgets in depth per element code as specific to portfolio.
  • Provide support to the Commodity Managers with the submission of annual contract budget guidance and forecast.
  • Fosters relationships with site and corporate based finance teams and keeps abreast of changes to site budgets.
