Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced HR Training Specialist with a background in the mining industry (preferably) to join their team. The HR Training Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of training and development programs for our internal teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting internal team trainings, workshops, developing tools and creating materials, with a specific focus on succession planning, identifying high performers, and retaining talent within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for employees across various departments, with a focus on succession planning, identifying high performers, and retaining talent.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training needs, and develop training plans accordingly.
- Design and deliver engaging and effective training sessions, workshops, and presentations, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats, such as classroom training, e-learning, and blended learning.
- Develop training materials, tools, and resources, including training manuals, guides, job aids, and other supporting materials, to facilitate learning and development.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, department heads, and other stakeholders to ensure training programs align with business goals and objectives, as well as compliance requirements.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback, and make necessary adjustments to continuously improve the quality and impact of the training initiatives.
- Manage and maintain training records, documentation, and reports, and provide regular updates to HR and leadership on training progress and results.
- Support succession planning initiatives by identifying high potential employees and developing career development plans to nurture and retain top talent within the organization.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership to identify and implement strategies to improve employee engagement, performance, and retention, with a specific focus on training and development opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to training and development, and make recommendations for incorporating innovative training methods and tools into the training programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training & Development, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as an HR Training Specialist, preferably in the mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of training and development principles, methods, and best practices, with experience in designing and delivering training programs.
- Familiarity with succession planning and talent management concepts, and experience in identifying high performers and developing career development plans.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present and facilitate training sessions to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple training initiatives and deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other training software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- Experience in the mining industry or related heavy industries is highly preferred.
