POSITION OVERVIEW
As the HSEC Manager, you will report directly to the Director of Operations and HSEC. You will work to develop, implement, and review company Resources Environmental, Health and Safety strategy, policies, programs, and initiatives while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Our company is expecting significant growth in the next year, and the candidate chosen for this position will excel at collaborating and communicating effectively at all levels of the organization. Candidates must be open to regular travel (25-40%) to our mine sites in the US and Chile, as well as to our headquarters in Colorado.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assume local responsibility for HSEC matters, including development, implementation, and review of the company Resources Environmental, Health and Safety strategy, policies, programs, and initiatives while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Ensure all environmental permitting, training, and monitoring reports are in accordance with state, provincial and federal guidelines.
- In collaboration with clients, develop and implement EH&S-related training programs for management, supervisors and/or all site employees.
- Implement an environmental management system while adhering to corporate environmental standards.
- Ensure proper coordination and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with clients, joint venture partners, and internal and external stakeholders to review and monitor all EH&S activities on site.
- Responsible for operational planning, budget management, and the coordination of new initiatives, policies, procedures, and programs.
- Supervise the safe operation at mine sites; provide leadership in incident investigation, incident classification, and emergency preparedness.
- Prepare technical reports, including documentation of audits and field investigation procedures, data management and interpretation, and development of graphical and tabular presentation of data.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with external associates and regulatory bodies to foster the professional image and reputation of the organization.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum five (5) years experience in HSE
- Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations
- Experience in environmental permitting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced in Outlook and Excel
- Possess strong administrative and time management skills; self-starter and ability to multi-task
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated success collaborating effectively in a complex, multicultural environment
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis
- HSE program management/creation experience
- Conducts all HSEC training
- Oversees Industrial Hygiene activities IDEAL/PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Degree in Health, Safety and Environment preferred
- Relevant safety and/or mining certifications
