Sherri Powell knows the mining industry from the inside. Based in Miami, Arizona, also an Arizona native, she’s spent her career building relationships across the industry, starting long before she ever worked in recruiting.
Sherri earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona and began her career in mine engineering, including contract work in Australia. Back in the US, she became a supervisor on a rotating shift in mine operations, then returned to engineering before moving into Human Resources with a strong focus on recruiting, and eventually into business development.
That path matters. Having worked in operations, engineering, HR, and business development, Sherri understands both the technical and people sides of mining. When she connects companies with talented professionals, she knows what the work actually looks like on the ground.
Outside of work, Sherri is a wife, a mother in a blended family with 5 children, and an active community volunteer. She genuinely enjoys getting to know people and building relationships that last. Helping companies find the right people, and helping people find the right opportunity, is the part of her work she enjoys most.
