Our CEO, Lindsey Schultz, was on the podcast, On the Rocks. Lindsey spoke with host Emily King about being a mom and wife and her path to mining recruiting as a career. Spoiler alert, it chose her. The daughter of MRC founder Robert Schultz, Lindsey has been involved in the business since she was old enough to pull resumes off the fax machine. She juggled school around trips with her dad, learning every aspect of the business. Lindsey has a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior from the University of New Mexico and an MBA from Arizona State University. She lives with her family in Colorado and is a member of the Women in Mining Denver.
Emily & Lindsey talk about what the skills gap looks like in mining, recruiting young people into the mining industry, and working with family. They also discuss the way that working from home during Covid-19 has brought work-life balance for many in the mining industry, as well as the importance of The Oregon Trail video game from their youth.
